Horse Riding on Cannock Chase in Staffordshire with miles of bridle paths and horse tracks, a permit is required for riding in forestry land but not on the valleys and hills controlled by Staffordshire County Council

Cannock Chase is situated close to Stafford, Cannock, Rugeley, Llichfield and the main towns of Wolverhampton, Stoke-on-Trent and Telford.

There are ample places to park horse trailers and lorries on large public car parks.

Plan your ride well and there is no need to have to do any road work.

Tracks are hard but in the forest there are many soft paths which are suited for canters and gallops.

Please be polite to walkers and remember the Chase is also used by mountain bikers.
